This year I celebrated Ederlezi with friends at the Russian Hall in Vancouver B.C. Caravan music presented a fabulous lineup of Balkan Brass bands; Orkestar Slivovica with the lovely Luciterra tribal belly dancers, Orkestar Zirkonium from Seattle and, Brass Manazeri from the San Fransisco. There were also dance performances by the Gandina Serbian dancers and, circle dancing for all was constantly interweaving the hoppin' dance floor! I was really impressed with the tribal belly dancers Luciterra, they are strong performers and the ATS style dancing with zills worked beautifully with the music and overall ambiance of the evening. This group is based in Vancouver and they regularly perform at interesting events in and around Vancouver, often with Orkestar Slivovica.
The video I took that night was a bit dark so, I've attached this video of Luciterra with Orkestar Slivovica that I found on youtube from a show at the Van. East Cultural Centre in 2010.
