Saturday workshop~Dances of the Caspian Sea
We will take us on a journey to the Caspian Sea region of Iran! Home to the great ancient Goddess Anahita, the brave warrioress Azad Dylami, and a region known for its great Caviar. In this workshop we will take a dance and music journey into the splendid green and fertile land, woods, farms, and paddy fields of Caspian Sea region, where dance and music depicts the life of a people who live in the rice fields, love nature, and lead a simple life. We will learn their great history, costuming, and dance styles such as, Ghassem Abadi (Rice/Basket Dance), Mazandarani, and Taleshi. In the last part of the workshop we will learn a fun and festive choreography.

Sunday workshop~ “Awakening” Sacred Dance Workshop
Farima’s signature workshop “Awakening,” which is based on her many years of research on Persian, Near Eastern, and Ionian sacred and mystical dances, history and rituals.
We will take on the path of the ancients, a journey of discovery, in space and time...reconnecting with ancient Gods, Goddess and Sacred Animals of ancient Persia and the Near East. Drinking deeply from hidden wells of inspiration, now being revealed in our time, we re-discover ourselves in the process. Join us on the exciting and unique journey of inner and outer exploration as we awake these figures. In this workshop we will learn various dances that depicts the creation of the Universe through a spinning series of fantastic formations, metamorphoses, and rhythmic dance.
We will learn the great history, movements and dances of the ancient Persian Gods/Goddess, Elements, Sacred Animals and the ‘Star of Magi” (The 8 pointed Sacred Star of Persia). The workshop will be followed by Farima’s signature Sacred Circle and Sacred turns based on ancient sacred Persian Flowers.
In the last part of the workshop we will learn a beautiful Persian Mystical choreography. If time, Farima will also teach a beautiful Persian Classical choreography.
